You woke up to the smell of brewed coffee, but the rain beats against the Dutch window. You hear bossa nova and then the bell of a passing bicycle. You love tulips, but you miss the sunset on the beach.

Living between territories isn't about being divided. It's about being expansive!

In this workshop, come create a collage that celebrates your dual belonging: where you come from (your roots in Brazil) and where you are growing (branches in the Netherlands). Bring your stories, traditions, rhythms, and connect them with what you are building, your growth, freedom, and new opportunities.

It's about saudade, but also about integration, strength, and the beauty of containing two worlds. All of this is you! All of this is us between territories!

EXTRA INFO

- The materials for the collage will be provided, but feel free to bring extra magazines and books from Brazil and/or the Netherlands, personal photos, or other materials you would like to add to your collage.
- This workshop is part of Ouvirandô – Festival of Brazilian Culture in the Netherlands, which takes place between October 5th and 12th and brings together various activities throughout the Netherlands.
- This workshop is also part of the exhibition BETWEEN TERRITORIES, which brings together three Brazilian women artists whose work crosses geographical, cultural, and emotional boundaries. The exhibition stems from the idea of ​​living between countries, languages, memories, and identities. Through collage, embroidery, and recycled acrylic, the works address processes of fragmentation and reconstruction. The materials reflect experiences of displacement, belonging, and transformation, creating narratives that move between vulnerability, resistance, and reinvention.
You can visit the exhibition from 7 to 11 of October, at A.K.A. Tropicalia, in Amsterdam.
