Ecstatic Dance is in its core about simply dancing freely together.
the vibe is relaxed, grounded, and easy going, we often hear from dancers that Common Ground immediately feels like home. We invite you to come be yourself here
On the Fridays we invite dj's with and without a background in ecstatic dance. Giving them a chance to surprise us with unexpected types of music of different intensities. We keep the core elements of ecstatic dance and invite dj's to play and stretch the elements within that.
We co-create this evening with you out of a love for dancing and connecting through movement.
Keeping ecstatic dance accessible is our mission, we are not for profit and donation based for that reason.

We begin with a short facilitated opening to help everyone arrive in the space and gently connect with the group.
Then the DJ guides a 2 hour musical journey through different rhythms and energies.
We end with a closing circle, a moment to lie down, relax, integrate, and share some snacks

This is a contribution-based dance.
A contribution between €10 and €20 keeps the space accessible and sustainable.
You’re welcome to give more or less, depending on your experience and your current capacity. This way of contributing allows the space to stay accessible, while honouring the value of the experience

• Respect your own and others’ boundaries
• Move however your body wants to move
The dance floor is a shared space of presence and respect.
You can dance alone, connect through movement, rest, observe, or simply let the music move you.
Join with friends or come alone and leave with new connections!

Common Ground is a community space in Amsterdam dedicated to authentic connection, embodied practices and conscious gatherings.
